Emily Taylor introduces GSE on BBC World Service

Emily Taylor, CEO of Oxford Information Labs and editor of the Journal of Cyber Policy, introduces her groundbreaking initiative, the Global Signal Exchange (GSE). Highlighting the rising global threat of online scams and fraud, Taylor explains how GSE—co-founded with Google and the Global Anti-Scam Alliance—serves as the world’s first clearing house for scam-related threat signals. With over 170 million signals enriched by 8.5 billion data items, GSE is designed to break down legal and practical barriers to international data sharing. Taylor envisions the platform as a collaborative effort among tech companies, financial institutions, and infrastructure providers—a kind of global neighbourhood watch—to help societies respond to online fraud in real time and at scale.
