Scam and Fraud on the Rise, With Mitigations Falling Short of Targets

November saw a XX% increase worldwide in the volume of suspected scam alerts, abuse data and related information (signals) fed into the Global Signal Exchange – rising from 320 million to 380 million during the month. Significantly, 21% of signals were shared from multiple sources, a measure that helps organisations to verify threat signals to tackle as priorities. The percentage of signals detected as mitigated within 24 hours was 1.16%, falling short of industry guidelines to mitigate all DNS abuse within 24hours.
