The GSE team is preparing for the Global Anti Scam Summit, which will be held in Lisbon from 9-10 June at the Convento do Beato Event Centre.

On 9 June, at the Research Working Group meeting, to be held from 14:00-15:30 Joyce Hakmeh, Senior Associate Cyber & Tech at Oxford Information Labs, will present the results of OXIL Research’s paper Rethinking Scam Prevention. The study draws on nearly 30 million domain based threat signals from the Global Signal Exchange and proposes a safeguarding approach for better prevention and support for victims of scams and fraud.

On 10 June, at the Plenary session from 0940-0955 am, Lucien Taylor will lead a panel discussion on the Global Signal Exchange, featuring speakers Jayde Richmond of Australian Competition and Consumer Commission; Mark Chen of GovTech Singapore, Nick Sharp of UK National Crime Agency and André Naumann of Google.

Following on from the plenary, from 1000-1100 am, GSE is hosting a workshop “GSE in a year: impact stories and the Road Ahead. The session will be moderated by Joyce Hakmeh, and features 14 speakers.

Lucien Taylor will give an overview of recent changes to the GSE platform, and the following speakers will address the topic ‘Fighting scams and winning, impact of the GSE’: Mark Chen of GovTech Singapore, Magr Kiara of CCB Belgium, Nick Sharp of UK National Crime Agency, André Naumann of Google, Raúl Burgos of Meta, Alexandra Gerst of Microsoft and a statement from Konrad Shek of the UK Advertising Association.

After that, we will hear from 7 speakers on ‘Why we’re joining: the next wave of GSE’: Jayde Richmond of Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), Eli Katz of Somos/XConnect, Mike Haley of Cifas, Jakob Bring Truelsen of Punktum DK, Zuzana Crawford of Paypal, Richard Grayburn of The Media Trust and Takeaki Kanaya of the Japan Trust and Safety Association.
