GSE Malvertising Pilot Expands Following Successful Phase 1 with Amazon and Google
The Global Signal Exchange (GSE) has successfully completed the first phase of its malvertising pilot, announced CTO Lucien Taylor. In a collaboration between Amazon, Google, and the UK Advertising Association, the pilot aimed to exchange threat intelligence, dismantle data silos, and enhance consumer protection.
Speaking at the LEAD 2026 Conference at the QEII Centre in London, Taylor detailed the pilot's achievements. Convened by the UK Advertising Association, Phase 1 successfully executed the exchange of threat signals between Google and Amazon. Crucially, the partners agreed on a foundational taxonomy to facilitate rapid, machine-to-machine (M2M) exchanges.
Analysis of this initial data sharing revealed that nearly 100% of the signals passed between Amazon and Google were net-new to the recipient. Given the immense scale and visibility of both organizations, this lack of overlap is significant. It underscores the critical value of cross-industry collaboration in the fight against digital fraud.
Following this success, the Advertising Association is convening a wider consortium for Phase 2. Organizations possessing malvertising threat intelligence who wish to participate in the next phase of the GSE pilot are encouraged to contact the UK Advertising Association or GSE.
